The Fraud and Abuse Control Information System (FACIS) is available online.
This is a web based information system that reports on sanction information from federal agencies,
including HHS/OIG (Health & Human Services/Office of Inspector General); LEIE (List of Excluded
Individuals/Entities); GSA (General Services Administration); EPLS (Excluded Parties List System);
FDA; DEA; Tri-Care; and the PHA List. It also includes the OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control)
Terrorist Database, SDN (Specially Designated Nationals), and the DPL (Denied Persons List). While this
system is used to screen applicants in a variety of fields, it is particularly applicable to the health
care industry. FACIS can also be used to search for disciplinary action information from all available
state agencies and boards.
